Building progress and planning for our opening!

The building work is progressing well and still on track for completion in May 2025. The roof has had to be totally replaced rather than re-furbished - you may have seen the work going on if you have passed the building recently on your travels. It should be good for another 100 years or more!

PLANNING GROUP - We are starting to pull together ideas for the programme of events and activities from when we open in June until December 2025. About 12 of us gathered one evening in late January and developed some strong ideas for a variety of creative and wellbeing activities. These included theatrical performances, cinema, music, crafts of all kinds, textiles, woodcrafts, ceramics and oil and water colour painting, yoga and pilates.

We were also keen to make sure there were events for children, working age adults and older people. We discussed some of the practicalities , room hire charges, refreshments, opening and locking the building etc.

We are now in the process of really nailing these ideas down, we are approaching potential group leaders, instructors and artists, some of whom were present on the evening, to firm -up exactly what will be available, for how many, when and how much it will cost.
